🔰 Weekly Wrap-Up

One week ago, I started with the mission. Today is the end of the first week, and this is what I did for the whole week.

  • I started the week by preparing a daily schedule/timetable. Making a timetable is, I believe, is one of the most important things, to begin with, the mission. Not necessarily this is the final one. I will make tweaks at the end of every week based on my observation or much feasible it is to me. I am using Google Tasks App for this.
  • I got reed of unwanted notifications on my mobile phone, which includes removing unused Apps, turning off promotional notifications, also unsubscribing from unnecessary newsletters. There were about 30–40 apps which I have installed for just trying out, and they were all lying on the device, taking up space and sending the useless notifications, contributing in distracting me from time to time. I will explain it in details in another post.
  • I made a habit of daily reading at least for an hour. I preferred reading in the morning after breakfast and in the evening, when I take a break from work. Reading books which will help in the journey, from which I can learn or explore more about freedom and things which will help me achieve it. I am starting with books having not more than 150 pages. I am using Kindle and Medium for this.

  • Started spending 1 hour daily to learn new things. I believe, if I dedicatedly sit for an hour, that will be enough. I enrolled for multiple courses, the technologies I want to learn. I have started with Loopback JS. I am using Udemy for these courses.
  • Spent 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes before going to bed applying for job openings, preparing for the interviews, solving coding challenges. Searching through job portals will not only help you get jobs but also will help you know about the current trending requirements in your industry. I am using mostly Glassdoor and Naukri.

I have tried my best to follow the things mentioned above regularly, but so far, I couldn’t.

It takes a minimal amount of time to adopt a bad habit, but it takes much time to leave one.

But I won’t stop trying. I will practice more and more until I take control of myself. It will take time to adopt these changes.

For the coming week, along with the plans of this week, I will be taking a few more small steps to attain freedom.

  • I’ll be focusing on finding out what I value the most. Knowing our core values of life will help me decide the path towards freedom.
  • Prepare a savings plan, to save enough, which can help me survive for at least 6 months based on my current expenses.
  • Write a minimum of 2 blogs every week. I want to improve my writing skills. The more I write, the more I will be better at it.

“Liberty is slow fruit. It is never cheap; it is made difficult because freedom is the accomplishment and perfectness of man.”
