Life in Lockdown

104 days 1 hour 24 minutes

The COVID-19 pandemic has bought a lot of changes in our life. I would like to pick up one change amount many others. The “WORK FROM HOME” culture.
Genuinely speaking, I am not a fan of this. Initially, it was pretty much relaxing, but slowly this thing turned into a nightmare. Looking at the current situation, offices are not going to open up for the next 3 months. But still, I am hoping this to end soon so that I get deliverance from WFH.

I am more of a person who likes meeting people, physically, not virtually. I like to talk to a lot of people, go out with friends and colleagues, match a movie in the theatre, etc. Everything I like to do, for that I need to go out, which is not possible currently.

#Initial lockdown days

Sleep late, wake up late, do the tasks assigned for the day, gossip about the new changing situation in the country. Cooking experiments, and posting it online. Involving in meaningless WhatsApp dares. Lockdown photoshoots. Life was something felt like exciting.

#Nightmare phase

This “looney tunes” type of days came to an end. Workloads started increasing as everybody accepted the situation, that this is how it’s going to be for the next 6 months at least. The relaxing evenings replaced with prod deployment timezone, late-night code debugging and issue fixing. Now the only thing in mind is to get to sleep at least for 5–6 hours. Working till 4–5 AM in the morning started to exhaust and need to be available by 11 AM in the morning. Slowly, everything started to feel like a War Zone. No more cooking experiments, now it’s like cooking anything just for survival. No time for watching a movie or a web series. The weekend became just like any other weekday. There was a week, I lost track of what day or date it is.

#Deal with it

This was very frustrating for me, was in a lot of stress. Then I started looking for ways to ease-up with these changes. As there is no other option, but deal with. In my opinion, in such situations, one should not give up everything or get stressed is not the right thing at the moment. I had to work more on my schedule to cope up with the current situation. I didn’t just give up my hobbies, rather I prepared a better timeline in order to manage everything.

Stay in, Stay safe….
